Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

FindQuan (“we,” “us”) operates findquan.com, a financial analysis dashboard. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the rights you have over it — including rights specific to California residents under the CCPA/CPRA.

2. Information we collect

Directly from you:

  • Email address and password, if you create an account (password is stored hashed, never in plain text).
  • Tickers you save to your personal watchlist.

Automatically, as you use the site:

  • Pages visited, links clicked, and general usage activity (e.g. which stock tickers you look up).
  • Session duration and session replay — a recording of on-page interactions (clicks, scrolling, navigation) used to diagnose bugs and understand usability. Form fields such as passwords are automatically masked and never captured in a replay.
  • Device and browser information (browser type, operating system, device type).
  • Approximate geolocation (city/country level, derived from IP address — we do not collect precise GPS location).
  • Referring website or search engine that sent you to FindQuan.
  • Error and crash reports, to identify and fix bugs.

We collect this automatically via cookies and similar technologies (e.g. local storage) through our analytics provider, PostHog.

3. How we use this information

  • To operate your account, save your watchlist, and keep you signed in.
  • To understand which features and stocks are actually used, so we can prioritize what to build.
  • To detect, diagnose, and fix bugs and site errors.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with the service providers that run the site:

  • PostHog (analytics, session replay, error tracking) — processes usage and device data described in Section 2.
  • Vercel (hosting, infrastructure) — processes standard web request data as part of serving the site.

These providers act as our service providers/processors and are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes. We do not permit cross-context behavioral advertising, so under CPRA’s definitions we do not currently “sell” or “share” personal information for advertising purposes.

5. Data retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Analytics and session replay data is retained by our analytics provider for a limited period (typically up to 12 months) before automatic deletion. You can request earlier deletion — see Section 7.

6. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we’ve collected, used, and shared about you.
  • Access a copy of that information.
  • Delete personal information we’ve collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not currently sell or share personal information as defined by CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of today).
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use account credentials or precise location for any purpose beyond operating the site).
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different quality of service for exercising any of these rights.
  • Appeal a decision we make in response to your request.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request where applicable.

7. How to exercise your rights

To submit a request to know, access, delete, or correct your information, email us at privacy@findquan.com from the email address associated with your account, or use the same address to reach us with any question. We will verify your request using your account email and respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 45 days, extendable once by an additional 45 days for complex requests). If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to power analytics (Section 2). You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect your ability to stay signed in.

9. Children's privacy

FindQuan is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
